Fatima Moien is currently a general assignment reporter and multimedia journalist for WHP-TV CBS21 based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Moien is a multi-award winning journalist having obtained her master's of arts in journalism from Hofstra University, and her bachelor of science in criminal justice from CUNY's John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Having passed the NYPD entrance exam as a sophomore in college, it was after the murder of George Floyd and the rise in police brutality in 2020, that Moien felt a career in law enforcement wasn't for her. She turned to her passion for service elsewhere, and found investigative journalism as her calling leading her to journalism school on Long Island, NY.
In her time at Hofstra University, she has been recognized by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation as a conservative Gracie Award winner, was nominated for a Fulbright Scholarship, and served as the student board representative for the Asian American Journalist Association (AAJA) New York Chapter. She also completed an academic year internship at WNBC Channel 4 for the Better Get Baquero show.
Moien was awarded her first Gracie award live on ABC’s The View, in honor of the late Barbara Walters with a $10,000 scholarship.
At CUNY's John Jay College of Criminal Justice, she majored in Criminal Justice with a minor in Digital Media & Journalism, where she served as the editor-in-chief for The Sentinel in her latter years. She was a Justice Capital Initiative fellow, an ARF WIDE Scholar, and a Team Leader for the ¡Adelante! Latinx Leadership program, a paid mentorship program aimed to retain college students on track to graduta
Moien is an avid fan of combat sports as both a fencer and fighter. She has a second-degree black belt in taekwondo and has competed nationally and internationally for USA and Pakistan.
